Firearms Compliance & Disclaimer
All firearms transactions conducted by Reignstorm Firearms are performed in full compliance with federal, state, and local law. All buyers must pass a NICS background check prior to taking possession of any firearm. We reserve the right to refuse any sale at our sole discretion.
Federal Law Compliance
Reignstorm Firearms is a federally licensed firearms dealer (FFL) operating in compliance with:
- The Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C. § 922)
- ATF Regulations (27 C.F.R. Part 478)
- The National Firearms Act (NFA), 26 U.S.C. § 5801 et seq.
- All applicable Tennessee state law
Age Requirements
Federal law establishes the following minimum age requirements for firearm and ammunition purchases:
- 21 years of age — required to purchase a handgun or handgun ammunition
- 18 years of age — required to purchase a rifle, shotgun, or long gun ammunition
Valid government-issued photo identification is required for all firearm purchases. Reignstorm Firearms strictly enforces these age requirements and will not complete a sale where proper identification cannot be provided.
Buyer Eligibility
Under federal law, a person is prohibited from purchasing or possessing a firearm if they:
- Are under the minimum age for the firearm type being purchased.
- Have been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for more than one year.
- Are a fugitive from justice.
- Are an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance.
- Have been adjudicated as a mental defective or have been committed to a mental institution.
- Are an alien illegally present in the United States, or a nonimmigrant alien (subject to limited exceptions).
- Have been discharged from the armed forces under dishonorable conditions.
- Have renounced their United States citizenship.
- Are subject to certain domestic violence restraining orders.
- Have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.
- Are under indictment for a crime punishable by more than one year imprisonment.
By initiating a firearm purchase with Reignstorm Firearms, the buyer affirms they do not fall into any of the above prohibited categories. Providing false information on ATF Form 4473 is a federal felony.
Background Check (NICS)
All firearm transfers — whether purchased in-store or transferred in from another dealer — require a federal NICS (National Instant Criminal Background Check System) check. Reignstorm Firearms will not release a firearm until an approved or proceed response is received, or until the federally permitted transfer period has elapsed in accordance with ATF guidelines.
A $10.00 fee applies to all background checks. This fee is non-refundable regardless of the outcome.
State & Local Law
Many items we carry — including certain firearms, magazines, suppressors, and accessories — may be restricted or prohibited under the laws of specific states or localities outside of Tennessee. It is the buyer's sole responsibility to understand and comply with all applicable laws in their jurisdiction before making a purchase. Reignstorm Firearms does not provide legal advice and is not responsible for purchases that violate state or local law.
NFA / Class III Items
Reignstorm Firearms holds a Special Occupational Taxpayer (SOT) license and is authorized to sell NFA-regulated items including suppressors, short-barreled rifles (SBRs), short-barreled shotguns (SBSs), and any other NFA-classified items. All NFA purchases are subject to:
- ATF Form 4 (transfer) or Form 1 (manufacture/make) approval
- A NICS background check
- Current ATF wait times, which may vary significantly
NFA item purchases are considered final once ATF paperwork has been submitted. No refunds or cancellations are available after that point.
Safe Storage
Reignstorm Firearms strongly encourages responsible firearm ownership. We recommend that all firearm owners:
- Store firearms in a quality gun safe or locked storage when not in use.
- Keep firearms unloaded when stored.
- Store ammunition separately from firearms.
- Ensure firearms are never accessible to unauthorized individuals, including children.
- Use trigger locks or other safety devices as an additional precaution.
